A message from the community

The people of Waswa thank you, Lifewater Canada, for sending your team to fix our pump. We were getting water from the river but that water is not safe for consumption. We are so grateful that we now have safe water in our homes.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The 568 residents of Waswa in Kisumu County had a community water well. However, when the well's pump broke down two months ago, almost everyone had to begin fetching water from the river. Only a few could afford to buy water from local vendors. Thankfully, Lifewater Canada donors funded the repair of the well pump and restored safe water for the residents, easing the threat of waterborne diseases.
