We convey this vote of gratitude to Lifewater Canada for rehabilitating our well and restoring water to our community. Thank you so much.

Project Summary

The Otera community well was drilled in 2000 to provide water for residents who'd been relying on dirty rivers as their only sources. Recently, after serving Otera for over two decades, the well's hand-powered pump that had undergone several repairs over the years was finally damaged beyond repair. This forced residents to go back to their old unsafe sources of water, with the accompanying risk of waterborne diseases.

But thanks to our donors, Lifewater has rehabilitated Otera's community well, including replacing the pump, so safe water is available to everyone again and diseases lurking in rivers are no longer a constant threat.
