A message from the community

We, the Kasaoke community, would like to thank you Lifewater Canada for funding the repair of our well pump. We have been struggling to get water for two years since the pump broke down. Thank you so much for your help and service.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The water well in Kasaoke community has been serving about 600 residents since 1987 when it was drilled to curb the spread of waterborne infections that at the time was rampant. Unfortunately, two years ago, the pump broke down and forced everyone to go back to the contaminated water sources that had caused so much sickness before the well was drilled. After several failed attempts to have the hand-powered pump repaired, the community finally learned about Lifewater and contacted us through our STADA Kenya partner for help.. Thanks to our donors, we repaired the pump and restored the flow of safe water in Kasaoke after two long years without it. In doing so, we also replenished the community's hope.
