Osango Otulu's 358 residents in Kisumu County were forced to begin drawing water from stagnant ponds after the hand-powered pump on the community's well failed recently. The pond water wasn't safe for human consumption, so drinking it put children and adults at great risk of contracting diarrheal diseases and skin infections. To help, Lifewater Canada donors funded the repair of the hand pump. Now the community has safe water again.
