A message from the community

We happily say thank you to Lifewater Canada for repairing our water well hand pump which broke down for about a year. We are very grateful.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

The 400 members of Kamwani community in Kisumu County usually get their water from a local well. However, about 10 months ago, the well's hand pump stopped working and no one could fix it. Those who could afford it began buying water from expensive local vendors. Everyone else was forced to depend on unsafe sources and the risk of diarrheal diseases.

It was a stressful life.

But Lifewater learned on the community's struggle and, with help from our donors, repaired the pump recently and restored the flow of safe water from the local well. Community members are thankful and relieved.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
