Project Summary

The source of safe water for about 600 children and adults in Chuchu Achar community in Kisumu County is a local well. About four months ago, the well's hand pump stopped working. Everyone was forced to start drawing water from the river. It is dirty water that puts children and adults at risk of diarrheal diseases that could quickly spread through the entire village.

In response, generous Lifewater Canada donors funded a rehabilitation of the well, including complete replacement of the failed hand pump. Now everyone has access to safe water again. They hope they will have no more waterborne diseases.
