Project Summary |
||||||||||||||||||
Alendu Primary School in Kisumu County has 704 students who had to bring their own water to class each day because there was no source near the school. Many students would walk to the nearest river, which put them at risk of contracting cholera or other waterborne diseases. Thanks to our donors, Lifewater has installed a rain harvesting and storage system -- including a 2,500-litre tank -- so the school can provide water to the students even during dry periods. The system includes a hand-washing station so grateful boys and girls are not only quenching their thirst but also practicing much-improved hygiene. |
