To meet their daily water needs, residents of Kwasere Abatata Gujeni relied an open stream or hand-dug wells. These sources were dirty -- shared with goats, cattle, and other domestic animals -- so families were constantly at risk of waterborne diseases and infections. Also, the time needed needed to walk to and from these sources added up to several hours each day -- keeping children out of their classrooms and parents from dealing with other household responsibilities.

But recently, through the generous support of our donors, Lifewater drilled a well in Kwasere Abatata Gujeni that is providing safe and easily accessible water for everyone.
