Project Summary |
||||||||||||||||||
There was no safe water source at the Government Science College Izom after the hand-powered pumps on the school's two water wells failed. Boys and girls had to leave their classrooms each day in search of any water they could find, regardless of whether it was contaminated and capable of making them too sick to study. But thanks to Lifewater Canada donors, our team has replaced the broken hand pumps (including this one) to ensure there is safe water for everyone. "The students are now back in the school every day," says Head Teacher Rebecca Saba. "Before, the students were roaming about looking for water during study time. But all that has ended. There is a saying in our community that whoever brings water brings life. You have given us life. May God continue to bless you." |
