A message from the community |
We appreciate Lifewater for providing a public toilet in our community. Before now, we were struggling on where to ease ourselves. At times, we would go long distances to use the bush, especially during dry season. Almost 70 per cent of our people suffer for infection and other diseases (from open defecation). We thank you for all you do. May God continue to bless you. -- Salihu Kudna, Community Leader |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
The Kudna people practiced open defecation which contaminated a distant river, their main source of water. The river was causing several types of waterborne diseases. Many young girls who defecated in the bush also faced issues of personal safety and dignity. But thanks to our generous donors, Lifewater built a public toilet for Kudna residents that is providing everyone with safety and dignity -- leading to a much healthier community. |
