Project Summary |
||||||||||||||||||
There was no source of safe water for children attending Kitinga Primary School or other people living in the surrounding community in Mwingi Central Region. Everyone was forced to gather water from rivers that were several hours' walk away. Students would go days without any drinking water in the school, which was a large barrier to learning and to good health. But recently, Lifewater Canada donors funded the drilling of a new well and installation of a hand-powered pump that are providing safe and easily accessible water to the school and the entire community numbering more than 2,000 very grateful children and adults. |
