Aishatu Adamu is from Shagari Quarters 1, a community with a severe water shortage after its local well stopped working. "We either buy water (which few people can afford) or cross the highway to get water from the stream, which is located at the opposite side of the community," Aishatu told us. "This is a dangerous journey, and we are risking our lives and the lives of our children. Today, we would like to thank Lifewater for rehabilitating our well (including installing a new hand pump). This will provide us with a safe and reliable source of water. Thank you very much, and God bless you." |
