A message from the community

We thank Lifewater for coming to our aid. We are very grateful and happy for the good work done in our community. Today, we are enjoying our water well again. Our women no longer walk three kilometres every day to the river to fetch water. We are happy today to have the hand pump on our well repaired. May the Lord bless your organization.

  -- Sani Suleman, Community Leader

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Abraham Dadi is from Gwandanye Community, which suffered from severe water scarcity after the hand pump on their only deep, sealed well failed.

"It has been years since the pump broke on that well down, and we have been facing great challenges in getting clean water for drinking and cooking," Abraham says. "The shallow local well in our community often dries up because of the number of people fetching water from it." When that happens, everyone must walk to and from the nearest river for water. And neither the shallow well nor the river provides water that is safe to drink.

"We are so happy and grateful to Lifewater for their help in repairing the pump on our (primary) well. May God increase and bless your organization greatly."

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
