Water from a dirty shallow well was the only option for the children and adults living in Gatayea after the hand pump on their only well broke down five years ago. Everyone knew the shallow well's water might make them sick with diarrhea and other illnesses, but they had no choice. Then our donors enabled Lifewater to visit Gatayea, repair the broken hand pump, and restore the grateful community’s source of safe water.
