Garlai communal hand pump in Bong County is the only source of clean and safe water for the residents. But for days, the hand pump was broken, forcing residents to walk for several kilometers to collect water from other wells. The shallow well's water was not safe for drinking either but it was the only choice the villagers had.
However, things got better for the residents when the hand pump repair team located the broken pump and fixed it, making clean and safe water accessible to the villagers.
