A message from the community |
Letter of Appreciation We wish to express our appreciation for the donation of a community toilet, in addition to the new water wells in our village. Your contribution to our community is really appreciated and has paved the way for more development in our village. May God bless you. Yours faithfully, Ibrahim Gimba, Community Leader |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
Angwan Gimba Every nook and cranny of Angwan Gimba seems to be drowning in urine. It is getting increasingly difficult to walk a kilometre without getting hit by the stench of urine. A walk around Angwan Gimba community reveals both young and old members as they splash urine on walls and floors. In the past, you would hardly see people defecating in public. All you’d wake up in the morning to see fresh are faeces on the streets or in bushes. The case is different today; many residents have thrown caution into the wind as people openly pass their waste in the daytime close to their houses within the community. Open defecation perpetuates the vicious cycle of disease, poverty, and an affront to personal dignity. The practice has harmed the populace, especially children, in the areas of health in Angwan Gimba. With our donation of a public toilet to the community, there is a reduction in open defecation. The residents are happy that a Christian charity organization has come to their aid and given them hope and human dignity. |
