A message from the community |

Words cannot express exactly how we feel. With gratitude in our hearts, we thank you for providing our community with a rehabilitated well. We are sincerely grateful for providing us with clean water. This will go along way to relieving us of the challenges facing our community. Once again, thank you sincerely for the restored well. May God reward your organization. -- Yamusa Bezumu, Community Leader |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

"I am Dr. Galadima, from Angwan Yamusa Benumu 2 Community. Our people have been suffering greatly from a lack of access to clean water for some months now. The dirty water from the stream (and open-to-the-elements well) has caused a variety of illnesses, and the death rate has been high. Children often go to school late or not at all because they do not have water to bathe. "We have been using alum sulfate to purify the water before use, but this is not a sustainable solution. In addition, the use of the stream has led to conflict between the Fulanis cattle herders and the community's residents. Therefore, we are very grateful that Lifewater has rehabilitated our well (including a new hand pump). This has solved our problems and allowed us to live healthy and productive lives. Thank you for your kind gesture and may God bless you." |
